1st INTER NGFS TAEKWONDO KYUKPA CHAMPIONSHIP -2019
“ The purpose in Taekwondo is not to fight but rather end the fight”
On the chilly day of 21st December , 2019 NGF Junior School witnessed the 1st Inter – NGFS Taekwondo KYUKPA Championship , 2019.
Taekwondo is the art of self defense that originated in Korea. It is one of the oldest forms of martial arts in the world. The occasion was graced with presence of the chief guest, Mr. Dinkar Chaudhay , an advocate and a wrestler associated with Chandi Gram Akhada. He had been honored with Bharat Kesari Award, 2017 and had also been a part of the blockbuster movie – Sultan. The guest of honor was Mrs. Protima Parbhakar , Prinicpal of New Green Field School, Saket and Manager of NGF Junior School
The students from New Green Field School, Saket , Alaknanda and Malviya Nagar competed with each other in 3 categories – Sub Junior , Cadet and Junior . The programme commenced with the traditional lamp lighting by the guests followed by speeches by the school’s Principal and the chief guest. The chief guest and the guest of honor were welcome with saplings and momento. The school choir sang the melodious school anthem where the students from all the three branches joined in. It was followed with a beautiful invocation dance and an aerobics performance and then the participants took the students Taekwondo oath.
Arena opening was done by the Principal and the guests after which the competitions began. Winners from each group of all the categories were felicitated with medals and certificates. At last, the team of New Green Field School, Alaknanda won the team trophy while the other two teams were felicitated with appreciation trophies. The entire school echoed with the cheering sound of the audience for all the teams. The Programme successfully concluded with the recital of National Anthem.
